Our story

Why we started ParentMoney HQ

Short answer: ParentMoney HQ was started by a parent writing as “M.” who couldn’t find one trustworthy place tracking Trump Account contributions, growth, and family protection basics. Every number on the site is sourced and dated, our method is published, and pay never affects rank.

Hi. I go by M. here. I’m a mom in my 40s, and my toddler is about to turn four. Before kids I worked in real estate and then in corporate jobs, and through all of it I loved investing. I still get excited about the plain, unglamorous math of starting early and letting time do the work.

So when Trump Accounts arrived, I was all in. A new investment account for kids, a $1,000 seed from the Treasury for some babies, and employers allowed to chip in tax-free. I wanted to know three simple things:

I couldn’t find one place I trusted to answer all three. I found press releases in one spot, a viral post in another, and “top 10” lists where the order seemed to depend on who paid. Some rows had no source. Some were out of date. As a parent with little free time, I didn’t want to sort out which numbers were real at 10pm.

So we built the place we wanted to use. ParentMoney HQ is a small set of tools: a contributor tracker, a growth calculator, a family protection checklist and a savings & CD rate tracker.

Our trust rules

These rules are the whole point. If we ever break one, call us out.

  1. Every number is sourced and dated. Each tracker row and rate links to where it came from and shows the date we checked it.
  2. Our method is published. You can read how we rank rates and which sources the tracker accepts on the rates page and the tracker.
  3. Pay never affects rank. If we ever earn an affiliate commission, it won’t move anything up or down a list.
  4. Clear disclosures. Affiliate placeholders are labeled. Nothing here is financial advice. See About & disclosures.
  5. FDIC-insured only. The rate tracker lists FDIC-insured institutions only. Fintechs with pass-through coverage are labeled as not banks.
  6. A public change log. When a contributor or a rate changes, we write it down on the tracker and the rates page.
  7. No pop-ups, no fake reviews. No interruptions, and no made-up testimonials.

Why a pen name?

I’m a private person, and this site is about the numbers, not about me. The work is signed by the ParentMoney HQ team. Judge us by our sources.

Thanks for being here. Check our links, tell us when something changes, and go hug your little one.
